Have your tile joints seen better days? Is your tile glossy and flammable no matter how much you rub and gnaw? While leftover food, fat and stekos stick to tiles and joints in the kitchen, it is in the bathroom rather soap residue, lime and skin deposits. In addition, the combination of heat and moisture risks forming black mold in the bathroom joints. Besides being downright unhealthy, it looks too sad. In any case, we have the best tips for you that make it really easy to clean not only tiles but also tile joints.
Clean tile joints
Cleaning tile joints can feel like a hopeless eternity. When grease, dirt and black mold have accumulated, they seem impossible to get rid of. But there are tricks to use that simplify the whole thing. We go through different methods for cleaning tiles and joints, without you having to use strong chemicals.
Clean tile joints in the kitchen
Above the stove and sink, leftover food sticks and the stekoset lays a nasty greasy film on top of both tiles and joints. To clean tile joints in kitchens; fill a spray bottle with water and a little degreasing detergent and spray in the joints. Let the solution work for at least 15 minutes and then wipe them with a clean cloth.
Nice joints in the bathroom
In the bathroom, tiles and joints are exposed to large amounts of moisture, heat and water. This in turn risks forming small black mold stains on the joints. Apart from the fact that it is not very healthy to inhale mold spores, it also does not look fun. There are many housewife tricks to clean tile joints in bathrooms. Usually a mixture of vinegar and bicarbonate works really well.
You do not need chlorine
When you hear the word chlorine, you're probably thinking of bathhouses. And of course, it is still used on surfaces that are hard set and require effective and antibacterial cleaning. But cleaning tile joints with chlorine at home is not necessary at all. Not only does it smell unpleasant, it is also highly questionable environmentally. In addition, the use of chlorine risks irritating your skin. Instead, you can take a closer look at good cleaners. Namely in your pantry.
Clean environmentally friendly with bicarbonate
Even though you may have only heard about it recently, cleaning with bicarbonate is nothing new. It is rather a well-proven housewife trick to use what you have in the pantry to clean in depth. Vinegar, baking soda and bicarbonate are excellent cleansers that most of us already have at home. To clean tile joints with bicarbonate and vinegar, you need:
- A spray bottle
- 24% vinegar
- Bicarbonate
- A toothbrush
- Clean cloth
Mix equal parts hot water and vinegar in a spray bottle and spray the joints thoroughly with the solution. Let it work for about 10 minutes before rinsing the joints thoroughly with warm water. Then mix bicarbonate and water in a bowl until you get a thick paste. Dip the toothbrush into the paste and rub it into the joints. Then spray with the vinegar solution again. Now you will see that the bicarbonate paste starts to bubble. Continue rubbing with the brush on the joints. When you are done, remember to rinse off thoroughly as vinegar can be corrosive to cement.
Free from dirt
You have probably spent a lot of time cleaning your tile. But grease, skin deposits and soap residue can be difficult to get rid of. Below we offer you some rock-solid tips on how to get a shiny clean and nice tile everywhere.
Freshen up the kitchen tile
Whether you have a few simple rows of tiles above the sink or fully tiled walls à la the bistro trend, a shiny clean tile is important for both hygienic and aesthetic reasons. The first, and easiest, piece of advice is to get into the habit of drying the tile regularly. To keep it hygienic and free from grease and food debris, you should wipe it off at least once a day. As long as you make sure to clean the tiles in the kitchen often, a little water and a cloth are enough to get rid of the dirt. When you need to clean deep in the kitchen, you should preferably use a degreasing detergent in a bottle that you spray on the tile and then wipe with a clean cloth. Even if there are special detergents for it, your regular detergent works perfectly to use.
Clean lines in the bathroom
In the bathroom in particular, your tile is exposed to hard wear in the form of moisture and moisture. You do not need to clean the bathroom as often as in the kitchen, but get in the habit of wiping it at least once a week. To clean tiles in the bathroom - moisten a cloth with vinegar and wipe the tiles with it. It will be clean and fresh in no time.
Clean tile joints in exposed environments
The shower is naturally the place that is absolutely most exposed to wear and tear in the form of moisture. Nowhere else do we pour water directly against walls and floors like there. In addition, moisture is formed by the steam from the hot water. Therefore, this is also where you get the most problems with black mold spores in the tile joints. While taking a shower, it is therefore a good idea to leave windows or doors open whenever possible. But on the tile and in joints, limescale deposits, soap residues and skin deposits also accumulate. So to clean the tiles in the shower so that it shines, you need:
- Vinegar or vinegar
- Bicarbonate
- Clean cloth
- Spray bottle
Spray vinegar or vinegar on the tiles in the shower. Dampen a cloth and dust it with a generous dose of bicarbonate, which you then wipe the plates with. Rinse with lukewarm water and then wipe the tile with a clean, dry cloth.
